Stonk Wave Instructions
The web setup wizard — shown here on the data provider step.

Dashboard looks blank after removing a symbol
This should resolve itself within a second or two as the display refreshes. If a blank area persists, swiping between screens will force a refresh.
Screen is frozen or unresponsive
Unplug the device, wait a few seconds, and plug it back in. If the touchscreen specifically seems unresponsive but the display still updates prices, try the physical factory reset described above.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to keep my phone or computer connected for the device to work?
No. Once setup is complete, StonkWave runs independently and only needs Wi-Fi and power — your phone or laptop is only involved during the initial setup or if you want to change settings from the web config page.
Will resetting Wi-Fi delete my symbols and settings?
No. Resetting Wi-Fi only clears the saved network — your symbols, alerts, and display preferences are untouched. Only a full factory reset clears everything.
Will a factory reset cancel my license or activation?
No. License activation is tied to your device and is preserved through a factory reset. You won't need to reactivate after resetting.
How do I know what firmware version I'm running?
Open Settings and go to the About screen. Your current version number is shown there, along with Wi-Fi status and whether an update is available.
Can I run both crypto and stock symbols at the same time?
Yes, as long as your chosen data provider supports both. You can mix symbol types freely once set up.
What happens if my Wi-Fi network changes (new router, moved apartment, etc.)?
Use the Reset Wi-Fi option on the About screen to clear the old network and reconnect to the new one, without affecting anything else.
My device won't connect to Wi-Fi during setup — what should I check?
Double check your Wi-Fi password, and make sure you're connecting to a 2.4GHz network — most small smart-home devices, including StonkWave, don't support 5GHz-only networks.

StonkWave
Setup guide, screen gestures, and troubleshooting FAQ
StonkWave is our compact, wide-format price display — a slim strip screen designed to sit under a monitor or on a shelf, showing a rotating or fixed view of your tracked symbols. This guide covers everything you need to get set up, navigate the device day to day, and fix the handful of things that occasionally trip people up.
Getting started
StonkWave is set up entirely from your phone or computer's web browser, rather than by tapping through screens on the device itself. This makes first-time setup fast even though the display is narrow.
Setting up your StonkWave
Plug in your StonkWave using the included USB-C cable.
On first boot, the device broadcasts its own Wi-Fi network named "StonkWave." Connect to it from your phone or laptop.
Your browser should open the setup page automatically. If it doesn't, go to IP Address displayed on the device 192.168.x.x
Follow the five-step setup wizard: select your home Wi-Fi network, choose your data provider, pick your starting symbols, set your display preferences, and confirm.
Once setup finishes, the device reconnects to your home network and starts showing live prices.

Screen gestures
Even though StonkWave is compact, it supports the same touch gestures as StonkTicker:

Updating your firmware
StonkWave can update itself over Wi-Fi. When a new version is available, the About screen (found under Settings) will show an "Install Update" button. Tap it, and the device will download, verify, and install the update automatically, then restart on the new version. This usually takes under a minute and doesn't require anything else from you.
Troubleshooting
My prices stopped updating
Check the Wi-Fi status shown on the About screen. If the device shows disconnected, see "Resetting Wi-Fi" below.
Resetting Wi-Fi
From the About screen, tap "Reset Wi-Fi." You'll be asked to confirm before anything is erased. Once confirmed, the device broadcasts its "StonkWave" setup network again so you can reconnect it to a different network, the same way you did during initial setup.

Full factory reset (no screen access needed)
If your device is stuck on a broken screen, has bad Wi-Fi credentials, or you simply can't get to the on-screen Reset Wi-Fi option, you can trigger a full factory reset with just the physical BOOT button — no touchscreen interaction required:
Press and hold the BOOT button on the back of the device.
After about a fifth of a second, the screen will show a warning with a countdown bar.
Keep holding for 6 seconds. Releasing early at any point cancels the reset with nothing erased.
Once the countdown finishes, the device wipes its symbols, alerts, display settings, and saved Wi-Fi, then restarts into the setup wizard.
Your license and activation are not affected by a factory reset — you won't need to reactivate the device afterward.
